Real Estate is a Boring Contact Sport!

The Last Mile Problem in real estate is the same that exists in Logistics.

Almost every week, a new AI product hits the market in real estate — just like the old days when businesses rushed to announce their new websites. It’s everywhere. But despite all the tech hype, the core of real estate hasn't changed. We’re still in a relationship-driven business.

Yes, technology is here to help, not to replace us. There's no need to expand on that.

Traditionally, we’ve competed based on our knowledge and experience. Now, with AI and instant access to data, everyone has the same information. So, how do we stand out when we all look smart?

The answer lies in relationships.

AI can save you time, enhance your communication, and help manage leads. But it can’t replace personal interactions. We’re dealing with the "Last Mile Problem’’ in real estate which is the same that exists in logistics. You can use any tech to gather all the leads you want, but at the end of the day, someone still has to make the call. Someone still needs to open the door. That’s where agents come in.

That’s why the biggest real estate companies in the world aren’t cutting agents. They ‘ve become recruiting machines and are hiring more of them. They understand the value of human connection. In our training sessions at M.Residence, the number one skill we teach is how to build relationships and have real conversations. Technical knowledge will follow. Real Estate is a contact sport.

Social media can get you the attention you want and the likes, but conversations will bring in the money.

The future of real estate is a blend of tech innovation and human interaction. Personal touch is what drives sales.

Only 5% of the agents make 80% of the total commissions. Read that again. Five percent of the top agents produce 80% of the total transactions. Most realtors think they’re winning with TikTok, but in reality, they’re dying so slowly.

Real estate is a boring business. It’s not as sexy as you think. Who do you think makes money in this business? The agents who embrace the boring parts — the boring calls, boring conversations, and boring follow-ups — are the ones who thrive.

At the end of the day, no matter how much disruption our industry is experiencing, "boring" agents will always survive. Boring is the new cool!

Until Next Time,
